DUBAI: Pakistan’s white-ball captain Babar Azam and wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Rizwan have retained their positions in the latest ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings.

Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan continue to hold the third and fourth spots respectively, while India’s Suryakumar Yadav remains at the top of the rankings.

England’s aggressive opener Phil Salt secured his position at second in the ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings.

West Indies’ opener Nicholas Pooran, following a blistering 98-run inning against Afghanistan, advanced to the 11th rank, and Australia’s opener Travis Head climbed five places to fifth.

In a significant change, Australia’s Marcus Stoinis has overtaken Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi as the top-ranked all-rounder in T20Is, thanks to his outstanding performances in the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.

“Mohammad Nabi’s tenure at the top of the ICC Men’s T20I All-rounder Rankings was brief, with Australia’s Marcus Stoinis taking the lead due to some remarkable performances,” stated the ICC in a press release.

“The new top-ranked all-rounder captured six wickets and made crucial batting contributions as Australia advanced to the Super Eight stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup with an unblemished record.

“His 2/9 performance aided in defeating Namibia, but his most significant contribution came in the final group stage match, scoring an inspired 59 off 29 balls to guide Australia to a victory over Scotland, recovering from a precarious 60/3 in the ninth over.

“Wanindu Hasaranga and Shakib Al Hasan complete the top three, with Nabi dropping to fourth but remaining close behind.”
