LAHORE: Pakistan is set to host the West Asia Baseball Cup later this year. The Baseball Federation of Asia (BFA) confirmed the hosting rights during a meeting in Taipei, China, on May 16.

Fakhar Ali Shah, President of the Pakistan Federation Baseball, stated, “Hosting the event is a testament to the BFA’s full confidence in Pakistan.”

The confirmed participating teams include India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Iraq, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, and last year’s runners-up, Palestine. This will be Palestine’s second appearance in the tournament.

The event is likely to be scheduled for October, with potential venues in Lahore or Islamabad. Final dates and venues will be decided in consultation with the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) and Punjab Sports Board (PSB).
