Chicago Blackhawks center Connor Bedard has earned the title of the NHL’s “Rookie of the Month” for December, leading all rookies with 10 assists and 15 points in 15 games (5-10—15). In the selection process, Bedard outperformed notable contenders such as Adam Fantilli, Marco Rossi, Pyotr Kochetkov, Samuel Ersson, and Devon Levi.

Bedard, the No. 1 overall pick from the 2023 NHL Draft, demonstrated his prowess by not only excelling in goals but also leading in power-play assists, power-play points, and shots on goal among rookies. He played a significant role in contributing to 45.5 percent of Chicago’s total goals in December, showcasing his impact on the team’s offensive performance. Bedard’s consistent presence on the scoresheet included four multi-point performances, featuring two goals, including his first career overtime winner on Dec. 27 against WPG, and consecutive two-assist outings on Dec. 17 vs. VAN and Dec. 19 vs. COL.
