Carlos Sainz Tops FP3 Ahead of Bahrain GP Qualifying

In the final free practice session before the Bahrain Grand Prix qualifying, Carlos Sainz tops by asserting Ferrari’s dominance by securing the fastest time. The Spaniard, driving the Ferrari SF-24, clocked an impressive 1:30.824, showcasing the team’s competitive edge. Carlos Sainz tops the session, closely followed by the experienced Fernando Alonso of Aston Martin and the formidable Max Verstappen from Red Bull Racing.

The practice session saw a strategic tire approach, with most drivers opting for the soft compound. However, the Red Bull duo, Verstappen and Sergio Perez, chose a distinctive strategy by testing the hard tires. This decision added an intriguing element to the session, hinting at diverse tire strategies in the upcoming race.

Lewis Hamilton, who topped Thursday’s FP2, ventured out early on the Bahrain International Circuit but settled for 12th place by the end of the session. The British driver opted for the soft tire compound on his Mercedes AMG Petronas W15.

Other notable performances came from Charles Leclerc of Ferrari, securing the fourth position, and McLaren’s Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri claiming the fifth and seventh spots, respectively. George Russell, the Mercedes driver, landed in sixth place.

Heading into qualifying, all eyes are on Ferrari’s impressive showing in FP3, suggesting a fierce battle for pole position. The Bahrain Grand Prix promises an exciting and unpredictable race, with teams and drivers vying for early-season supremacy.
