Farhan Ahmed, the younger sibling of England leg-spinner Rehan Ahmed, has inked a three-and-a-half-year professional deal with Nottinghamshire.
At 16, off-spinner Farhan has been a part of the Notts academy and debuted for the second team at just 14.
Picked for England’s Under-19 World Cup squad at 15, Farhan took five wickets in four games during the tournament in South Africa last January.
“He is a player with immense talent and potential. He’s grounded and understands the work required to realize his potential,” said Notts head coach Peter Moores.
Farhan has played over 150 pathway games for the club.

“I’ve seen others transition from the academy to the pro staff and then to first-team cricket, which boosts my confidence in achieving the same. I aim to seize every opportunity to improve and contribute to Nottinghamshire’s success,” he stated.
Rehan Ahmed was 17 when he debuted for Leicestershire and became the youngest to play a Test for England, taking a record 5-48 against Pakistan in December 2022.
