A day after the events of “Black Monday,” the Tennessee Titans parted ways with Mike Vrabel after six seasons, a period that included a journey to the AFC championship game. Vrabel, who had two other playoff appearances and was named the 2021 Coach of the Year, compiled a 54-45 record overall in Nashville. Unfortunately, the team experienced a setback this past season, finishing with a disappointing 6-11 record.

The coaching changes continued with the Atlanta Falcons dismissing head coach Arthur Smith, who completed his third consecutive season with a 7-10 record. Smith concluded his tenure with the Falcons with an overall record of 21-30 and no playoff appearances.

Subsequently, Ron Rivera of the Washington Commanders also faced termination. Despite winning the NFC East with a 7-9 record in 2020, the team’s performance declined, going 7-10 in 2021, 8-8-1 in 2022, and hitting a low point at 4-13 in 2023.

The coaching carousel expanded further as three other head coaches were previously fired in the season: Josh McDaniels of the Las Vegas Raiders, Frank Reich of the Carolina Panthers, and Brandon Staley of the Los Angeles Chargers. Additionally, two general managers, Dave Ziegler of the Raiders and Tom Telesco of the Chargers, were also released from their positions. The search for new opportunities now awaits Vrabel, Smith, Rivera, and those who may join them in the quest for new coaching roles.
