Pakistan tour Australia

Australia is gearing up for an exciting white-ball cricket series as they prepare to host Pakistan in November this year, Cricket Australia (CA) revealed in its latest international schedule for the 2024-25 season.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that the tour will kick off Australia’s white-ball campaign for the summer, featuring a total of six matches. The series will consist of three one-day internationals (ODIs) and an equal number of T20Is, spread across six venues from November 4 to 18.

Following a gap of nearly a year, Pakistan will return to Australia after their participation in the Benaud-Qadir Trophy, a Test series held in December 2023-January 2024 across Perth, Sydney, and Melbourne.

The ODI leg of the tour will commence on November 4 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, followed by matches in Adelaide and Perth on November 8 and 10, respectively. Pakistan’s last ODI series in Australia dates back to 2016.

Subsequently, the focus will shift to the T20Is, with the series opener set to take place at The Gabba in Brisbane. The action will then move to the Sydney Cricket Ground and conclude in Hobart on November 18. Pakistan’s previous T20I appearance in Australia was during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2022.

In other cricketing news, Cricket Australia also announced a high-profile Test series against India, starting from November 22 in Perth. The series will feature five Tests, with matches scheduled in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney.

CA’s chief executive, Nick Hockley, expressed anticipation for what promises to be an electrifying summer of cricket, highlighting the significance of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which will be contested over five Tests for the first time since 1991-92. Australia aims to reclaim dominance over India at home, having last defeated them in a Test series during the 2014-2015 season.
