ISLAMABAD: Pakistan triumphed over Turkmenistan with a commanding 3-1 win in the final of the Central Asian Volleyball Championship at Liaquat Gymnasium on Friday.
In a thrilling match, Pakistan secured the title by winning three sets, while Turkmenistan claimed one. The national team clinched victory with scores of 25-21, 25-19, 20-25, and 25-14.
Throughout the tournament, the home side remained unbeaten, winning all six matches. Pakistan won a total of 18 sets and lost only three.
The Green Shirts advanced to the final after a decisive 3-0 victory over Kyrgyzstan in the semi-final on Thursday, dominating with scores of 25-18, 27-25, and 27-25.
In the third-place match, Kyrgyzstan outperformed Sri Lanka to secure the bronze medal.

The multi-national tournament, hosted by the Pakistan Volleyball Federation, concluded with Federal Minister of Planning Ahsan Iqbal presenting awards to the top performers. Diplomats from various countries attended the final and the closing ceremony.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the national team for their stellar performance, stating on X, formerly Twitter, “Superb performance! Pakistan wins the Central Asia Volleyball Championship. Talent and teamwork at its best.”
