Speaking ahead of Pakistan’s four-match T20I series against England, Azam highlighted the team’s strong batting lineup and the bolstered bowling department with the return of Mohammad Amir. He emphasized the quality of players like Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Naseem Shah, further solidifying Pakistan’s prospects in the tournament.

Azam also provided insights into Pakistan’s strategy, confirming Saim Ayub and Mohammad Rizwan as the opening pair, with himself slated to bat one down. He noted the team’s minimal experimentation in the recent Ireland series, indicating a focus on refining the preferred lineup for the World Cup.
