Reflecting on the match during an interview with Canal Encarada on Tuesday, the former UFC champion revealed his belief that Tsarukyan had briefly lost consciousness during a third-round D’Arce choke attempt. Oliveira recounted the moment, saying, “With just 30 seconds left, I had him in a tight D’Arce choke, one of my favorite submissions. I even thought he went out, hence my tongue-in-cheek expression. However, it’s all part of the game.”

Despite Oliveira’s proficiency with submissions, including six victories by guillotine choke in his career, he expressed disappointment at not securing the finish with that technique in the opening round against Tsarukyan.
