DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the on-field umpires for the highly anticipated India vs Pakistan match in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. Richard Illingworth and Rodney Tucker will officiate the Group A clash on June 9 in New York.

Illingworth is also appointed for the tournament’s opening match between co-hosts USA and Canada, alongside Shahid Saikat from Bangladesh, marking his debut in the Men’s T20 World Cup. Richie Richardson will act as the match referee, with Sam Nogajski as the TV umpire and Langton Rusere as the fourth umpire for the opener.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, co-hosted by the USA and West Indies, runs from June 1 to 29. It begins with USA facing Canada at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas. This ninth edition features 20 teams in four groups, with the top two from each group moving to the Super Eight phase. The top two teams from each of the Super Eight groups will advance to the semi-finals.
