Pakistan has moved to a hotel closer to Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York, where they will play two T20 World Cup group games on June 9 and June 11. Initially, the team was booked at a hotel 90 minutes from the ground. Concerns raised by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) prompted a switch to accommodation in Long Island, just ten minutes away from the venue.
The team arrives in New York from Dallas on June 7 and will face India two days later. India has been staying at a nearby hotel for over a week, having already played a warm-up match against Bangladesh and their first group game against Ireland.

Typically, the ICC and the Local Organising Committee (LOC) handle hotel bookings for World Cup teams. However, Sri Lanka’s experience in New York has brought these arrangements under scrutiny. Staying in Brooklyn, 90 minutes from the ground, they had to cancel a training session and start their day early before losing heavily to South Africa. Sri Lanka’s bowler Maheesh Theekshana criticized the logistics, and manager Mahinda Halangoda filed an official complaint.
Not wanting to face similar issues, the PCB insisted on a change, and the ICC agreed. Pakistan will play India on June 9 and Canada on June 11 in New York.
