PCB releases anthem for T20 World Cup 2024

LAHORE: On Saturday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) launched its official anthem ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. The tournament is set to be held from June 1 to 29 in the USA and the West Indies.

“This anthem is dedicated to our fans who support the Pakistan team through every victory and challenge,” the PCB stated.

“Let’s come together, celebrate, and empower our team’s quest to conquer the world,” the PCB added.

The anthem, titled ‘Sadi Vari Oye’, is performed by celebrated singers Ali Azmat, Arif Lohar, and Nehal Naseem.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Men’s cricket team arrived in Dallas on Friday to compete in the T20 World Cup 2024.

However, Pakistan has faced challenges in finding their winning form ahead of the tournament. The Green Shirts played three bilateral T20I series to prepare for the T20 World Cup 2024 but struggled to achieve consistent results.

Firstly, the team drew a five-match home series 2-2 against an under-strength New Zealand side. Next, they secured a 2-1 away series win over Ireland. Unfortunately, they lost a four-match away series 2-0 to England. The most significant upset was their loss to Ireland in the first T20I.

Pakistan is placed in Group A with arch-rivals India, Ireland, Canada, and co-host USA. The Green Shirts will kick off their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 campaign against the USA on June 6, followed by a high-stakes match against India on June 9 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. Additionally, the 2009 champions will face Canada on June 11 and conclude their group-stage matches against Ireland on June 16.
