Renowned South African cricket all-rounder and former national coach, 77-year-old Mike Procter, currently finds himself in a serious health condition in intensive care, as per a statement from his family conveyed to AFP via Procter’s charitable foundation. According to the statement, Procter is undergoing treatment in a hospital near his hometown, Durban, after experiencing a complication during routine surgery. Procter’s international playing career with South Africa came to an abrupt end in 1970 due to the country’s exclusion from world cricket amid its apartheid government. Despite this, South Africa triumphed in six out of the seven Tests in which he participated, all against Australia. Renowned as a fearsome fast bowler, Procter claimed 41 wickets at an impressive average of 15.02 runs in his seven Tests.
